Why Wellington?

Green Initiative

Green is more than the color on our signs. Wellington Management believes being "green" and great management run together. Starting in 2006 WMI started its on-going program to improve buildings' efficiencies throughout its portfolio. First by ensuring all our buildings operated with the most efficient and effective lighting systems. Second, by working with our local utility companies, energy assessments throughout our portfolio highlighted areas of improvement and provided the necessary rebates to modify our buildings reducing energy consumption and lowering utility costs for our tenants. Wellington continues to track energy consumption on a monthly basis through EnergyPrint as part of our ongoing energy conservation effort.

In addition to managing our buildings as efficiently as possible, Wellington continues to add green technologies to our buildings and we are reviewing new ways and systems to reduce our energy and water consumption in our portfolio. Presently, 104KW of solar powered (photovoltaic) panels are operating on five of our buildings. Wellington properties also contain geothermal, solar thermal and green roof systems.

Wellington is also seeking to achieve Energy Star ratings on as many of our buildings as possible. We achieved our first Energy Star rating for one of our buildings in 2009.Our partners throughout this process include:
